My Little Test ON Making Money On Twitter

So can you make money on Twitter? I have seen a lot of people saying that you can, so I decided to do my own little test. To set the scene, when I did my test, I had 6500 followers. So not huge but reasonable for a test.
I decided to promote a brand new product by internet marketing giants, Matt Bacak and Shawn Casey. Why this, well I have used tweet spinner to get my followers and I have mainly targeted keywords like, internet marketing, making money on line etc. So a product by two internet greats seemed logical.
I also decided that I would use tweet later to set up six tweet’s to broadcast over a 14 hour period. This would allow for time variations for my followers. Another reason I chose the product was that Shawn Casey has great tracking, so I knew I would get statistics.
So I sent out ‘Matt Bacak and Shawn Casey together, what more could you need to make money online?’
Then I waited. So after 14 hours having tweeted 7 times in total, one at the beginning and 6 more with tweet later. I have 36 clicks on the link (One of which was by Matt Bacak himself). Not one single sale.
What does this mean? Well to me its simple! If you send out a message 7 times to 6500 people which is 45500 messages in total. Then you would expect say 100 responses anyway. So its shotgun marketing, which is, bang, bang please run into the bullet.
I personally do not believe that Twitter or a lot of the social media is a quick hit sales tool. I do believe that it is a great relationship builder, which is vital for long term sales and client retention. So don’t stop it, just add it in as a part of your overall strategy.
Oh by the by if you have made money on Twitter I would love to hear how, in the meantime, its filed under urban myth.

If you are starting out in the world of online marketing, your first and vital step is to find your niche. You may ask what is a niche, its a small section. In building terms it is where two walls meet. So if you think of the room as the whole market , then the corner is your niche. Imagine you are zooming in to the corner, closer, closer. That’s the easiest way, I think, to visualise a niche. So now how do you find your on line niche. Here are some simple steps to take.
Well nearly most, if not all businesses go through a bad patch. It would seem at the moment that all business worldwide is going through a bad patch. How has this happened, is not for discussion, here and now. Anyway if you are in trouble or about to get into trouble, what to do now?, is the main question. Firstly no matter what, do not tell your Bank manager you are in trouble. They will almost certainly reduce your facilities. Also this is advice, if and only you really, really believe that your business is going to get back on its feet and that you can turn the corner and recover.

My Lucky Leprechaun’ Seamus, has brought me good luck today. I am second in Ireland on twitter. Imagine that.
There is a story in the newspaper about some one on face book, not being who they said they are. They claimed that they were starting the Irish version of ‘next top model’. Why they did this?, I have no idea, but that’s not what I am going to write about. Its about ‘Who are you, really?’
So you want to start an on line business, the amount of information you now have to process can be huge. When I started, I was lost! I have been involved with computers all of my working life.
