Before you have get traffic, you need your niche, your domain, your opt in software and squeeze page, your product and your sales page.

Great, but now is where the real Fun begins. Getting people to your site! Let’s say that you find a desert Island, its perfect. Sandy beaches, pure natural water, everything you could want for in a tropical paradise. You ship in all the materials and you build a great hotel, right on the beach front. You have it designed so it blends into the countryside. The locals who are friendly, staff the hotel for you. You open the doors, no one comes. Why? Well you don’t have a runway for planes to land and no one knows that you are there. Now it makes sense so now take the same thoughts and apply them to your web pages. No one knows that they are there so it’s no wonder that they don’t come.

The point is you can have the best product in the world, on the best squeeze page, optimised for perfection. But if you have no traffic, means no people, which means no money.

Online marketing increases traffic and income

Marketing is the most important thing you can do for your online business yet it is the most neglected.

Gnitekram? What is gnitekram, you ask? It is marketing spelled backwards! See, how marketing works? Just by spelling the word marketing backwards makes this more attention-grabbing. Catching people’s attention is one of the top goals of Internet marketing. Without the backward spelling, this would be just another heading, one without much attention-grabbing ability. This is just a tip of the marketing iceberg!

Online marketing is the most important thing that you can do in business yet it is usually last on the list (if even on the list at all). Many times there is very little budget for this important part of creating and managing an online business. How many times have you heard someone say, “I’ll take care of the Internet marketing after my website is complete” or “When my ecommerce site is making money then I’ll focus on online marketing”?
Many people will go to no ends to establish a business, whether it’s brick and mortar or an online business, and yet promoting their products and services is but a mere thought. No room is left in the budget for Internet marketing and promoting everything that you have worked so hard to develop. What a shame as marketing online is the one thing that will get the word out to their target audience on what they have to offer and why it will benefit their visitors. What could be more important than promoting your business and making money online? Think about it, ever try running a business without customers? It just doesn’t work that way. Getting your products or services out to your potential customer is key and Internet marketing will help do it cheaply (often times free) and quickly).

Capture your target audience with Internet marketing

Internet marketing helps you to identify your target market, develop the online business, products, and services according to the needs and wants of your potential customers. Online marketing allows you to develop a plan and a strategy. Without a plan, many websites fail and do not make money online. Marketing via the Internet helps you to know how to set your prices. Knowing how to set your prices is important as proper pricing and discounting affects your customer’s perception of how attractive your product and/or services are. Internet marketing tactics such as press releases, announcements, or classified ads, which are submitted to relevant sites and various online blogs and forums, can spread the word about your online business faster than wildfire.

Placement – when and where is your product available to people – is another aspect of online marketing. How will you promote? Will you take advantage of online advertising? If so, how, when, and why will you market using your computer? People are another factor of Internet marketing tactics and people are detrimental to the success of your website and making money online. Whether it’s through a phone call, an e-mail, or a word-of-mouth recommendation, people will promote – or demote – your business. These are just a tip-of-the-iceberg examples of what online marketing tactics can do for you and your business.

Whether or not you see the importance of marketing via the Internet, it is the most important thing that you can do for your online company. To not employ Internet marketing tactics is similar to building a store, placing the products or services that you built based on your own limited research and assumptions (and not on your potential customers’ needs and wants) on the shelves. Then it’s like taking a guess at what the price tag will be for these dreamed-up products and services, and waiting for customers who are eager to purchase at your particular store over all the millions of other businesses out there. This, dear Reader, just is not how it works. The motto “If you build it, they will come” does NOT stand true when running a business. Marketing has been around for, well, forever. Even before all the developments and technology of today ever came into existence, traditional marketing tactics were employed.

With the Internet now, there so much information available, it is too tempting to “take a go at it” on your own. It is very common for people to do their own marketing. IF you have the knowledge and the time, it can work as there are people who can handle the ongoing task of the MANY various non-traditional marketing tactics as well as tackling all the other responsibilities. However, improper Internet marketing can actually damage your reputation, your online business, and your potential to make money online. Many discover this to be true after it is almost too late or when it is too late. Don’t let this happen to you. Marketing using the Internet is an ongoing process that, when done correctly, can not only add creativity and fun to your business and allow you to meet many goals as well as to meet many new contacts, it can deliver an excellent ROI. Yet you can’t do it alone. Isn’t your website worth it? Aren’t you worth it? Don’t your customers deserve it? Don’t take a chance with your e-commerce or online business. Don’t overlook the importance of Internet marketing. You have worked too hard to risk it.

Ok I know that this is a strange one, so let me explain. You know we all someone in the family that’s different, which is what makes families great. Mine is My godfather and Uncle John. John is an amazing character, because his is MAD and proud of it.                        Yes proud of it to the extent where he arranges a MAD Pride day in cork every year. Mental illness has always been something to be ashamed of, but why? If you have cancer or now AIDs, its nothing to be ashamed of, so why mental illness, when to be fair it effects so many.

Whats worse is that when you go for help, you give up your rights. In other words if you go into a hospital either by yourself or you are admitted, you have no rights. Which means that if the doctor decides  you are going to get electric shock treatment you can not say no. This belongs in victorian times, not the information age.

May I take this opportunity to tell you about a very brave man that I am fortunate enough to be allowed call a friend? Those of you that know me know I am a mental health campaigner; I constantly struggle and argue against the present overriding medical model. I have more than once in the last years been accused of being anti-psychiatry, anti-medication, anti-cooperation. I am a self-acknowledged pain in the arse. I stick to my chosen principle of choice in treatment and that those of us who live with the normality of madness in our lives have the human right to live in this society with dignity. The right not to be feared because we are different, odd! The human rights we fought hard for and won in the UN with the new Convention on Human Rights of the Disabled not yet ratified by this state. The right not to be forced to take treatment based on no acceptable science. Right or wrong, we have that right to the open debate.
