Over the past months goggle local has come to the fore in how you generate local traffic. This tool is designed to take over from your usual land based mail drop. About 25 odd years ago bulk mailing became popular, which was you went to a printer got a couple of thousand flyers made up with your offer. Then you would have someone drop them in the doors of people you don’t know.  This is where JUNK mail originated and is why you still the term  junk mail still used. So, let’s just say that one of the keywords that I wanted to use to attract traffic was “internet marketing tips”. I would need to ensure that I listed the city my keyword so that anyone searching for that particular keyword would find me. Basically, I would need to ensure that my campaign used the keyword “Cork internet marketing tips”. This very specific locally targeted keyword would allow me to dominate Cork for anyone searching for internet marketing tips in the Cork area. Most likely it would be a business looking for help in this area and they’d want someone local to assist them. It would be really easy for me to get local businesses for the term “Cork internet marketing tips.”

Also when you are setting up your campaign you can keep the budget small, especially as this is only new in Ireland. You can also target your campaign to just Cork or any county in Ireland.  Just go into select location and you can target exactly where you live. This means that anyone who looks you up your keyword will find you.
